cafv’s emergency shelter is a confidential haven for individuals and families who need refuge from an unhealthy or violent relationship.  if you feel unsafe or doubt the safety of your family members please seek help by calling our 24-hour crisis hotline.

 

the emergency shelter will help you by providing food, clothing and a safe place.  you will also receive help through counseling, crisis intervention, support groups and assistance with your children.

 

cafv’s transitional living center will help you transition to independent living.  families can stay at the transitional living center for up to 24 months–rent free.  In those 24 months you will have access to education services, building on skills necessary for employment and preparing you for permanent housing.  The transitional living center can assist up to four families at any given time.  most importantly the transitional living center will give you a safe place to become a confident, independent and mightier person.

 

 

2008-2009:   824 residents stayed at the emergency shelter:

                   551 female and 273 male residents

                   525 residents between 0-17 years of age

                   299 residents above the age of 17
