The battering intervention & prevention program (BIPP) specializes in domestic/family violence intervention and prevention of battering behaviors used to gain power/control within an intimate relationship, marriage, or family.

Family/domestic violence consists of battering behaviors that affect intimate partners or family members. The BIPP curriculum should not be confused with anger management; aggressors usually do not display battering behaviors towards friends, co-workers, or authorities demonstrating their ability to manipulate these situations.

The BIPP curriculum focuses on a person’s history of abuse and is designed to teach accountability. This program is effective because it is based on the dynamics of peer-accountability, a methodology that has been successfully employed for twenty years.

 The BIPP curriculum is not:

  • Anger management, which addresses a total lack of impulse control.
  • Individual counseling, which addresses mental health disorders.
  • Support group, where a people helps one another get through a traumatic time.
  • Couple’s counseling, where both in the relationship share equal fault.

BIPP Topics

  • non-violence
  • non-threatening behavior
  • respect
  • support and trust
  • honesty and accountability
  • sexual respect
  • partnership
  • negotiation and fairness
